Do you ever find yourself in the weeds with your to-do list?
Do you occasionally have a list so long that it feels impossible to make a dent in and all you want is for there to magically be more time in the day? Today I’m going to share with you one tiny secret that helps me to make sure I’m making progress on my to-do list everyday.
Set a timer!
If I have a limited work day then I find it really helpful to a set a timer for certain tasks. I give myself 20 minutes to conquer e-mails in the morning and another 20 minutes at the end of the day. Whatever I don’t accomplish in that 20-minutes will be pushed to the next time that I’m e-mailing.
I find the timer to be helpful because it keeps me on task to know that my time for that task is running out before my eyes. It also helps me to make sure I don’t spend an entire day half focused on 1 of the 30 tasks that I have to do. This is a small tip, but, I encourage you to give it a try today. Is there something that feels too big to start? Set a timer and only work on it for that amount of time. You’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish in a concentrated & focused period of time!
