Decaf, Dogs, and Daisy! {This is the Good Life}

With my life going through some structural changes, I’ve been working to create a blogging routine that feels good to me and allows for some consistency. The easiest way to keep up with my posts is to subscribe {check the top right hand corner} but, for those of you who aren’t interested in that, I’d like to make it as easy as possible to know when to check out the blog.

SO, as I briefly mentioned on Wednesday you can expect a regular blog post every Monday. Occasionally, a guest blogger will appear on Wednesdays, and if I have something like a ‘This is the Good Life’ post or photos to share, that will happen on Fridays. As you all have probably figured out by now, I’m really into consistency.

For today, I felt it time to share some of the things that are bringing a smile to my face right now.

1. Decaf Coffee.

I can’t believe I’ve been taking this for granted for so many years. Especially a great swiss water processed decaf {you can read about that here if you’d like.} Being able to drink coffee without the jitters is something that I am ashamed to admit I’d pretty much forgotten about. Winter has made me a believer again and I’m happy to consistently have something warm to sip on, minus the anxiety.

2. My job.

Ok, I’m deep within the honeymoon phase of my job. Everything is perfect and there’s no chance that anything will ever go wrong. I recognize there’s a degree of delusion in my positivity. Nothing is ever perfect and every job eventually has trials. However, I really really love what I’m doing right now. For those of you who don’t know:

I am the marketing coordinator for French Broad Chocolates .
It feels great to market a company that I believe in. From the way they purchase their ingredients to the way they treat their employees. It’s a joy for me to be there. Not only that, but, I’m not sure I’ve had a job more suited to my skill sets without having to own the business myself.

3. Hot Water.

You all, our hot water was out at our house for close to two weeks! It has been a real struggle. I took one cold shower which felt like a thousand knives raining down upon me. The day our hot water came back to us, I may have showered for hours. I could have died happily in there.

{Also, once I took a self-portrait in the shower during  a 365 series.}

4. Gunner.

My roommate Scott got a dog named Gunner. He is the light of my life.

5. Love, Daisy.

Daisy is the only stylist that I’ve ever been to where I didn’t feel the need to be fancy or act like I knew what I was doing. Frankly, salons make me uncomfortable and feel inadequate as a woman. But, Daisy is relaxed and laid-back. She listens to what you want and tells you what will or won’t work. Which is probably why after 13 years of having the exact same haircut I finally switched it up. {Check her out here}

She also has a boutique in the front of her shop for your perusing pleasure!

with love and the good life,
